Each BioGlo device activates automatically upon water contact or inflation - no switches, wiring, or batteries. Using stabilized bioluminescent chemistry (luciferase-based reactions), the system delivers sustained, natural light even when electronic devices fail.

A transparent, optically engineered bladder or housing diffuses light uniformly in all directions. Internal reflective liners and optical shaping surfaces ensure maximum brightness and detection from air, sea, or shore - meeting or exceeding USCG and SOLAS visibility standards.
